PS 200
The PS200 portable 4-gas monitor available from Hetek Solutions Inc. combines quality, ruggedness, and advanced technology in a user-friendly, portable gas monitor. It can measure any combination of lower explosive limit (LEL), oxygen (O2), carbon monoxide (CO), and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gases, making it suitable for a wide range of personal monitoring and confined space applications. It is compact, lightweight, water-resistant, extremely robust, and is certified to multiple international and regional standards.
Key Features of The PS 200
The PS200 4-gas detector is manufactured by Teledyne, a global leader in safety, flame and gas detection systems. It is used as personal protective equipment (PPE) in multiple industries serviced by Hetek, including gas utilities, water utilities, municipalities, and the midstream and upstream oil and gas sectors.
Key features of the PS 200 include a simple 2-button operation, three sensors, sensor integrity checking, and configurable operation. It has three alarm types: vibrating, audible, and green/red visual alarms. The PS 200 has extensive data logging capabilities with a minimum of 360 logs per session and a minimum of eight calibration logs. The monitor provides a minimum of six months of timed data logging based on a gas event every one hour during a typical eight-hour shift, with a data log interval of every one minute. The PS200 is GDCloud compatible.
An extensive range of accessories is available, including an Auto Bump/Calibration Station for simple but intelligent testing and calibration. Hetek’s services include the repair and calibration of all equipment sold by Hetek as well as several other instrumentation brands.
Automatic Bump Testing and Calibration
Do you want to perform a quick field calibration? The Auto Bump & Calibration Station is an automated test station with a user-friendly design developed for the PS200 portable 4-gas monitor. It has full bump and calibration options to improve compliance record-keeping, efficiency, and accuracy.
Once the PS200 is placed in the station dock, it can be tested, calibrated, and charged. Three data transfer options are available: standalone, PC, and ethernet. The PC option allows easy configuration of the Auto Bump & Calibration Station, and results are automatically stored to a database on the PC. You can then create and print calibration certificates.
Technical Specifications
More detailed technical specifications are available in the PS200 portable gas monitor brochure and user manual.
- Size, Weight, Drop Test
- Individual PS200 gas monitors are 121 x 59 x 32 mm (4.8” x 2.3” x 1.3”) in size and weigh as follows:
- 230g (8oz) with pump
- 215g (7.60z) without pump.
- The gas monitor is PPE, so there is a possibility that it can be dropped. The drop test for the PS200 is 3 m (10 ft).
- Temperature and Humidity – Operational temperatures vary from -20°C to +50°C (-4°F to 122°F), and the monitor can manage humidity levels from 0 to 95% RH non-condensing.
- Sensors – The LEL gas sensor is a catalytic bead, while the O2, CO, and H2S sensors are electromechanical. The combustible sensor options include standard filtered, which detects most combustible gases, and enhanced filtered. The enhanced filter offers increased H2S and silicone poisoning resistance.
Installation and Deployment Methods
The PS200 portable gas detector is designed as PPE to detect the abnormal presence of one or more gasses in work areas. You can perform a pre-entry check by using the optional internal pump to ensure an area is safe before entering. The PS200 power supply consists of a lithium-ion rechargeable battery with a run time of up to 14 hours (diffusion) and up to 8 hours (pumped). The charging time is less than four hours, and you can use either USB charging or a universal power plug.
The PS200 can be charged individually, or one can use the PS200 5-way multi-charger that allows you to charge up to five units simultaneously. Colored ‘rubber boots’ are available to distinguish between portable gas monitors when they are used for multi-application working. The Hetek training and consulting department ensures clients are well-equipped to use all the products sourced from us.
