What types of gases can safety monitors detect?

Hetek’s personal gas monitors can detect a wide variety of the most common toxic gases, simultaneously and in various combinations. How do personal gas monitors alert users to danger?

Our gas monitors, such as the PS200 and PS500 are calibrated to notify users as soon as the concentrations of particular gases in the environment reach dangerous levels. When they detect these high levels, they provide an alert notification in the form of audible, vibrating and flashing LED alarms. Personnel can then take whatever evasive or corrective action is necessary.

How often should portable gas monitors be calibrated?

Personal gas monitors should be checked and calibrated annually, as a matter of routine maintenance. If bump testing indicates that a sensor is not operating as it should, you may want to calibrate them more frequently, or as required. 

What is the difference between a gas monitor and a gas detector?

The main difference between gas monitors and gas detectors is that monitors are designed for portable, personal use. They allow workers to clip them onto their belts, or carry them with them as they head into an area that might have gas leaks. Detectors might also be portable, but whether or not they are, they are mainly intended to detect gas levels in specific installations, such as pipelines, rather than for the personal use and protection of workers themselves.
