Hetek’s personal gas monitors are designed to provide anyone working in a hazardous environments with reliable gas monitoring technology to ensure their safety. Our multi-gas monitors, including the Honeywell BW Icon, offer accuracy and performance. Each is equipped to detect a variety of gases, ensuring comprehensive protection. Trust in our personal gas monitor technology to keep you safe, no matter the conditions.
Personal Safety Monitors for Workplace Protection
Personal gas monitors are designed to ensure that workers are always aware of the levels of certain gases in their environment, and alert them when hazards arise. With real-time responsiveness, they keep engineers and technicians notified on an up-to-the-minute basis, and can take avoidant or corrective action as needed.
How Personal Gas Monitors Improve Safety
Portable gas detectors are designed to detect dangerous, abnormal levels of one or more gases in the immediate environment. They immediately alert users if gas concentration levels exceed the pre-programmed alarm thresholds. Since there are various risks involved with exposure to these gases, portable gas monitors are indispensable safety tools, helping technicians – through early detection – to prevent hazards such as explosions, fire, intoxication, or asphyxiation.
Hetek offers several personal gas monitors to help you improve the safety of your oil, gas and petrochemical operations. Among the most popular and versatile is the PS200 series, a compact, lightweight, handheld monitor that can measure any combination of Lower Explosive Limits (LEL), oxygen levels, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulphide, making it suitable for a wide range of personal monitoring and confined space applications.
Other solutions include the PS 500, MicroDock II, Toxirae Pro CO2 and Honeywell BW Icon.
Frequently Asked Questions About Personal Safety Monitors
What types of gases can safety monitors detect?
Hetek’s personal gas monitors can detect a wide variety of the most common toxic gases, simultaneously and in various combinations. These include methane, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, and various flammable gases. They also measure the relative levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Solutions for other gases are also available depening on your specicific application and Hetek’s team can help configure the right instrument for your situation.
How do personal gas monitors alert users to danger?
Our gas monitors, such as the PS200 and PS500 are calibrated to notify users as soon as the concentrations of particular gases in the environment reach dangerous levels. When they detect these high levels, they provide an alert notification in the form of audible, vibrating and flashing LED alarms. Personnel can then take whatever evasive or corrective action is necessary.
How often should portable gas monitors be calibrated?
Personal gas monitors should be checked and calibrated annually, as a matter of routine maintenance. If bump testing indicates that a sensor is not operating as it should, you may want to calibrate them more frequently, or as required.
What is the difference between a gas monitor and a gas detector?
The main difference between gas monitors and gas detectors is that monitors are designed for portable, personal use. They allow workers to clip them onto their belts, or carry them with them as they head into an area that might have gas leaks. Detectors might also be portable, but whether or not they are, they are mainly intended to detect gas levels in specific installations, such as pipelines, rather than for the personal use and protection of workers themselves.
